Cardio
Cardio is the most important exercise routine
for Police Officers because of the health benefits gained from
a consistent cardio program. Cardio is great for our
hearts and builds endurance which is important in Police work
because of the duties that we perform. It does not matter
what form of cardio you choose as long as you are doing some
form of cardio exercise several days per week.
The options for cardio exercise are almost
endless and many are extremely fun. Choosing a cardio
option that is fun will be beneficial because you will
look forward to doing it each week. If running on the
treadmill is boring to you then search out and find
something else that appeals to you and make it your
hobby. Hobbies can become addicting life-long
activities which is what we want when it comes to cardio and
fitness. This is something that should become part
of your life so that you will be healthier and happier.
We all know that Police work is extremely
stressful and stress is not good for our health. Many
people turn to alcohol and other bad habits to deal with
stress which only compounds their problems. A better
method for dealing with stress is to engage in a fun fitness
related activity that will bring you enjoyment along with
health benefits. Obviously if you have an existing
health issues you will want to check with your doctor before
engaging in any fitness activity.
