The most important thing in life is
family and as Police Officers we have to make sure that we do
not get overwhelmed with our careers and allow our
family to suffer. Police work requires a lot of long hours and
shift work which can cause problems in our home
lives. Police Officers can avoid family problems
by making quality family time a mandatory part
of our lives. For Officers who have children it is
even more important that you be there for your kids. As Police
Officers we know all to well the importance of parents being
involved in the lives of their children. Think of all
the troubled kids that we deal with who have no parental
support or they have no father in their lives. We all
love our careers but we must not lose sight of the fact that
it is a job and family comes first.
